Freiholtz,John from Germany/Chicago?

My GGG-Grandfather is John Freiholtz. He was born in Germany (Aug 1831)(one census says Prussia)and immigrated to the U.S. @ 1860. We think he was in the Chicago area during the Civil War and eventually went to the Atchison, KS area. He married Sarah and had sons and a daughter Rhoda (my GG-Grandmother). In 1900, he was listed on the census as an inmate at the National Home for Disabled Volunteer soldiers in Leavenworth County, KS
He is not on the 1910 census so he died after 1900. Most of my info is from the census records.
I thought there may have been a connection since your Freihold was in Cook Co.

Deborah
