Hello there Isabelle,
This is very difficult to sort out but I do believe we are related. I have not yet managed to find the siblings of my Gt.Grandfather Arthur, I need info. from the 1871 census which no one seems to have. But, I do know that Arthur's sister (Mrs.Lakin) had a daughter who was called Lizzie who married a Walter Wright and lived in Shepshed.
My Gt.Gf. Arthur died around 1950, have yet to find the correct date. I have great difficulty because my Gt.Gm. was married twice and she had family with her first husband living in Shepshed. I have made contact with my mothers cousin in Florida but she is related to the first marriage and gets me a bit confused with who belongs to who!!
This Lizzie Wright(nee Lakin, whose mother was a Freer)had one daughter who never married.
Arthur's family were all born in Skegby, Notts. Their names were as follows:- Emma, Sarah, Jack, Edward, Lavinia, Elsie,
Eliza and Sylvester.
My mother once told me there was some connection with Salt Lake City but I have not managed to find anything out about that. My.Gt.GT,Gf. was John Freer and Ann Stevenson, formally Bullers. I have not got any further back with that maybe I should now concentrate on finding out about Arthurs siblings. I only know of Mrs.Lakin and a sister called Emma.
I have been in touch with a guy in Canada who it seems is the Gt.Grandson of Eliza Freer but we have not as yet managed to find out if she was Arthurs sister. As I have said the 1871 census would answer us an awful lot of questions.
Hope you can figure all this out. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
Wendy.
