Louis Freeman bought land in Franklin Co., MO for sone Abraham
Hi All,
As I am sure all of you know, research in the early 1800's and late 1700's if exceedingly difficult.I have hit a brick wall with Louis Freeman.
Louis Freeman was the father of Abraham Freeman who married Nancy Jane Deen/Dean on Nov 16, 1826 in Franklin Co., MO.Louis Freeman shows in county tax records as "absent" owner. He never lived on this land nor even lived in Missouri. When he died abt. 1844, Abraham inherited the farm from him and started paying taxes on the farm in 1845.I have a copy of the land land deed of Louis Freeman.
Other then his name, the land tax records and the land deed, I have not been able to find him or any records of him anywhere. He is not on any US Census reports either.
I have been at the Franklin County, MO, County Clerks office, County Recorders Office, Franklin Co. Genealogical Society and have exhausted all resources in Franklin Co., MO.We believe he may have lived in KY.I know he was in PA in 1794 as that is where Abraham was born.
If anything here looks familiar, please reply and let me know what you have.
Respectfully,
Art Freeman
