Question re Philip G Freeman 1743 Virginia
RE: Philip Freeman.Through census records in the 1860, 1870 & 1880 (in Clarion County, PA) I can see that two families are in fact related as Jackson Freeman is the father of both George Alvin and Mary Amanda.
I was wondering if anyone could just answer something off the top of your heads because it is confusing. Is Jackson Freeman's father Samuel Freeman, born about 1800-1878, married to Catherine Livingston (1804-1886), buried in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Fayette County, PA?Because that Samuel Freeman is living in Connellsville, Fayette County, in 1850 and 1860 census records with a completely different family. That family (Harriet, Hester, Mary Louisa, John, George) has many members who have already completed DAR and SAR applications that have been accepted as children of Samuel and Catherine Livingston, and grandchildren to Philip.
But, in another 1850 census, Jackson Freeman, born about 1829, is listed with Samuel, born about 1790, and Catherine, born about 1791, in Clarion County, PA.His siblings are Joseph and Catherine.
Jackson continues to be seen in Clarion County census records with Margaret (McCoy) in 1860, 1870 & 1880 with your George Alvin and my Mary Amanda as his children. So how can this family also be related to that Samuel Freeman, the son of Philip? Was this Samuel married to another Catherine, who is actually our Jackson's mother?I noticed that this Samuel had many children listed in family trees that occur before Samuel marries Catherine Livingston, usually seen as 1827.
Then, there is another 1850 census where a Catherine Freeman, born about 1793, who is listed with a John Freeman, born about 1825 and Margaret, born about 1826, in Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland, PA.Is this Jackson's mother and John another brother to him and Joseph?
Or, is the Samuel living with Jackson in Clarion County, Jackson grand father? There was another family tree that said Samuel had a son, William, born in 1810, who had a son in 1828 that he named Jackson.
