Elizabeth "Betty" Theard
SHREVEPORT, LA - Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Theard, 95, slipped away in her sleep on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August, 29th at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Father William Bryant of St. James Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, East.
Mrs. Theard was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport. She was very active in Girl Scouts of America for many years and St. James Episcopal Church where she was active in the Altar Guild. She was one of the first five families to originate the Southside Riding Club. Mrs. Theard was a stay at home mom that was very active in her children's school activities.
Mrs. Theard was preceded in death by her husband, William Chester Theard; parents, George Freeman, Jr. and Sarah Freeman; brothers, George Freeman, III and Davidson Freeman; and grandson, Robert Barton Theard. She is survived by her son, Edward Davidson Theard and wife, Kathy; daughter, Amelie Elizabeth Jackson and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Alan Robert Linn and wife, Amanda Christine and their children, Angel Nicole Linn and twins, Heather Ray and Heidi Elizabeth Linn; Michael David Linn and his son, Osmond Linn; William Thomas Theard and wife, Gwen and their son, Braedon Robert Theard; Madelyn Claire Theard; Mark Edward Theard; niece, Vicky Freeman; and nephew, Currey Freeman.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. James Episcopal Church.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to her church and Summer Grove Baptist Church, especially those who visited her, Heritage Manor South and Life Path Hospice. OSBORNFUNERALHOME.NET
