Hi Jim, I don't have a Charlie in my lines, however, my g/g/grandfather was William Freeman and although his family were from the Brick Store portion of Newton County, much of the extended family wound up in the vicinity of Stone Mountain. Here is what I have on my William (wife Dorcas Parker d/o James and Mariah (lnuk) Parker--Darcy was from the vicinity of Stone Mountain): William W. Freeman was born in 1837 in Newton County, Georgia. The children of William and Dorcus were: Mary E., b. 1863, m. Jim Mauldin William S., b. 1865, m. Jewel Unknown James Lee, b.1868, m. Bell Miller Ida Loafie, b. 1871, m 1-Miller, 2-Teasdale, 3-John White. Indyanna, b. 1873, m. John White/Holtzclaw, daughter, Grace Lugenia, b. 1877, m. Charles Young, daughter, Loudebell, son Davis, Mattie Lucinda, b. 1878, m. Robert Sills, children Ora (Johnson), Carrie May, Josephine, Loyd L. My great grandfather was James Lee Freeman. The only other son of William was William S., he could have been the father of your Charlie, I have no lore on him or his descendants. I would suggest you look in the 1890 Dekalb County census and perhaps the Newton County census also, or request a look-up posting to this/these forum boards for it to see if there is "a" William with a one year old child named Charlie in the household. Chances are this would be your family, I don't believe there were that many Freeman families in the area during this time. If this proves to be your family, contact me I can take you back a few more generations in your Freeman family. Regards, Jane Notify Administrator about this message?
