Indenture between Holdman and Ann Freeman to Rowland Blackburn Senr.
Deed Book 1744-1748 Pages (37-38) and (39-40)
Henrico County, Virginia

This Indenture made this first day of August in the year of our Lord Christ One Thousand and Seven Hundred and Forty Eight Between Holdman Freeman and Ann his wife of the County of Goochland of the first part and Rowland Blackburn Sen. of the County of Henrico of the other Part Witnesseth that the Said Holdman Freeman & Ann his Wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty five Pounds Curry. money of Virginia in hand Paid the said Holdman Freeman & Ann his Wife by the Said Rowland Blackburn they Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by their Presents doth Give Grant Bargain Sell Align Enfeoff and Confirm unto the Said Rowland Blackburn and to his heirs and Assigns for Ever one Certain Tract or Parcel of Land Containing one hundred & Forty Nine Acres be the Same More or Less Lying on Deep Run. Beginning at Col. Randolphs Line from Deep Run to Norths Corner to Black Oakes. Thence along Norths line to a Corner Popular in a Branch called Quiachison Down that Branch to Deep Run and over the Said Run to a Line of Marked Trees to a Corner Hickory of Allies thence to a Corner black Oak and from the Black Oak a South Course to A Hickory at the Run the Oak being a Corner of Allies and Stapelors thence down the Run to the Beginning Together with all Houses Orchards Gardens Fences and Mines and all other the Appurtenances to the Same belonging to Have and To Hold the Said Land & Premises unto the Said Rowland Blackburn and to his Heirs and assigns for Ever and the Said Holdman Freeman and Ann his Wife hereby Convant for Both to have and Each of them their Heirs that they will Warrant the Said Land unto the said Rowland Blackburn and to his Heirs for Ever in Witness to hereof the Said Holdman Freeman and Ann his Wife hath hereunto Setts their Hands and affixed their Seales the Day and year above Written.

Signed Sealed & Delivered In Presence of us Wm Harding, Thos Ellis, John Ellis

Memorandum that on the first day of August 1748. Quick and Peaceable Possession and Seizin of the Land of Premises within Mentioned was made and given by Holdman Freeman and Ann his Wife unto Rowland Blackburn Senr. According to the form and Effect of the within Written Deed.

In (the) Presence of Wm Harding, Thos Ellis, John Ellis

Rec'd this the first day of August 1748 of Rowland Blackburn Senr the Sum of Twenty five Pounds Curry. Money of Virginia & Being the Consideration money for the Land and Premises within Mentioned I say Recd Tes. Holman Freeman

At a Court held for Henrico County the first Monday in August Holman Freeman & Ann his Wife Acknowledged this Deed with the Livery of Seisin & receipt Endorsed to Rowland Balckburn Senr. to be their Act of Deed than the Said Ann (she) being Privately Examined relinquished her Right of Dower in the Land by this Deed Conveyed all which was Ordered to be Recorded./ Test.
