This is all from online sources, so it needs verification.

I couldn't find the names you requested, but I found that both Daniel & son James FREEMAN left wills (Danl., pr. 4 Nov. 1844, & James, pr. 26 May 1848, Monticello, Jasper Co., GA). The wills aren't copied on the site I found, but the inventories are, showing that for Daniel's estate, property was purchased by George and William FREEMAN, & for James, property was purchased by Hopson & Newton FREEMAN (& others--some of whom might be relatives of the wives).

Daniel apparently was the Daniel FREEMAN, 75, who applied for Pension S31681, NC Line, 23 Oct. 1832, Jasper Co., GA. Have you found the pension papers?

Daniel FREEMAN was listed in Capt. HARDMAN's Eleventh District, Oglethorpe Co., GA, 1800.

James PYE & wf. deeded 5 July 1789, Wilkes Co., GA, to Daniel FREEMAN, 200 acres on Mack's Creek adj. John SMITH, Wm. CARDIN, & Jane PATTON. [Oglethorpe Co. was formed from Clarke, Green, & Wilkes Cos., 1793. Could this have been a family transfer? James FREEMAN might have been named for James PYE.]

James FREEMAN must have been b. 1780+. He married 22 May or Dec. 1808, Oglethorpe Co., GA, Martha "Patsy" LACY, (ca. 1785 - after 1860 Census), dau/o Eliza Mary WILSON (ca. 1752, VA - 1824+) & Noah LACY (1750, VA - ca. 1826). There's a Familytreemaker file online for descendants of Thomas LACY that includes the children of Noah & Eliza (but I wouldn't bet on the dates of birth for the children being correct--if all twelve were ch/o Eliza, b. 1752, they must have been born 1772 - 1796). James FREEMAN & Martha had dau. Frances, who m. Mr. SMITH, and Hopson FREEMAN (b. ca. 1813).

Hopson was of Jasper Co., GA, in 1840, & also on the slaveholder schedule in 1850. In 1860, Monticello P. O., Jasper Co., GA: FREEMAN, Hopson, 47; Celia, 30; Virginia, 18; Sarah, 14; Julia, 12 (children of first wf.); James H., 6; Ader C., Geo. F., 8; Martha, 75.

Another researcher lists the first wife of Hopson as a Martha b. ca. 1815; she was mother of Frances, b. 1838, as well as Virginia, Sarah, & Julia, who were on the 1860 Census.

FamilySearch: James Hopson FREEMAN (24 Feb. 1854, GA - 6 Jan. 1933, Cass Co., TX; bu. Laws Chapel Cem., Avinger, TX) m. 10 Apr. 1880, TX, Ida Viola STROMAN. The marriage is listed as taking place in Cass Co., but the 1880 Census has James H. FREEMAN, 26, GA GA VA, & Ida, 18, SC SC SC, of Precinct 1, Marion Co., TX.

Have fun verifying this!
