The John Cooke who married Mary Borden is not my John Cooke. The John Cooke son of Thomas Cooke of R.I. who married Mary Borden is well documented in Jane Fletcher Fiske's two volume set "Thomas Cooke of Rhode Island". She mentions in the last section of volume two "Other Rhode Islands Cook's" the John Cooke of Warwick who is married to Mary -----. I believe this is the same John Cooke who was born in England between 1618 and 1620 and came on the Abigail as a servant of Edmund Freeman. I'm trying to put together the years from landing at Salem on the Abigail and settling in Rhode Island with his wife Mary ----- and three children.Several years were probably spent in the Sandwich area working off his indenture to Edmund Freeman.
