This may be a likely candidate for wife Mary for your John.

Mary Borden, baptized in Cranbrook, Kent, England- 13 Jan 1632/3 came to Portsmouth RI, America with her parents Richard and Joanne (Fowle) Borden in 1637 and settled in Portsmouth, RI. Had 12 children

Mary married John Cooke of Portsmouth RI- son of Thomas Cook. She died before 1691- John died 1691.
They had 11 children.

This information (there is much more about Richard Borden)
is on the Ancestry website- from a book listed as The Bordens of Headcorn, Co. Kent, England.

English Origins of New England Families, Vol. II

It appears that Headcorn and Cranbrook are adjoining villages in Kent.
