I found Ida & Seymour in Beinville Parish in 1920 and 1930.
In 1910 they were in Natchitoches Parish with the oldest 4 of their 8 children. It shows they have been married 8 yrs--which would be 1902. So I looked at 1900 for Ida and found only one and her age is off, but that is not unususl for Census Records. So--this may or may not be her.
James W. Freeman age 42 born TX, both parents b. TX. He was sheriff of Natchitoches Parish. It shows this is his 2nd marriage and has been married to Mary for 7 years and she has had 3 children--but there are 5 older daughters living with them also, probably by first wife, and Ida is second oldest. The others are Ruth, Amelia, Alice, and (looks like) Belmont. The children with Mary are James Earl 5, Helen 2, and Jeremiah W., 1.
None of the children were born befor 1880 so he may or may not have been married then. I find only one James W. Freeman age 22 in 1880 which would be correct and he is a boarder so that didn't help with his parents.
I will continue to look for him and will let you know if I find anything else.
I am not related to this family.
