In the 1870 census of Sumter Co. Dis. 789- I find this family, but the entry is muddled, as the census taker has put the wife first instead of the husband.
Francis A.Freeman (F) age 31-b. GA ( This should be spelled Frances- as that is the female spelling of the name)
William Freeman- age 36-Farmer, b. GA
Lucinda- age 14
Henry L- age 12
Josiah, age 10
William, age 8.
Living next door was Christopher C. Freeman, age 33
and Catherine Freeman, age 33.
In the marriage records of Sumter Co, 1832-1857.
Frances A. Harden married William Freeman on 18 October 1855.
In the 1880 census, William is living with his now married sister Lucinda in Sumter:
J.T. Fletcher- age 29, b. GA- Farmer
Lucinda Fletcher- age 23-b. GA
Herbert Fletcher, age 4 months-born February 1880
William Freeman- age 17- boarder.
I cannot find William and Frances in GA in the 1860 census- and not in GA. in 1880 either.
