Hi Melani.I am also stuck on the one FREEMAN ancestor.Nancy FREEMAN was born about 1816 in Charlotte Co., VA.She married my GGGrandfather James NEWCOMB on 25 Jul 1832 in Charlotte Co., VA.James & Nancy migrated to Tishomingo Co., MISSISSIPPI in the 1840s about 1847 according to the birth data of their children. They appear on the 1850 Tishomingo Co MS Census. They cannot be found on a 1860 or 1870 Census in Tishomingo Co., MS.James Newcomb is found on the 1880 Tishomingo Co MS Census newly married to a Lucinda GIBSON. No one seem to know what happened to Nancy FREEMAN.
A James NEWCOMB age 16 appears on the 1850 Charlotte Co VA Census with the Thomas FREEMAN family.I thought that perhaps this could be James & Nancy NEWCOMB`s eldest son who decided to stay in VA with his Uncle.
I feel that the two FREEMANs, John and Thomas, are perhaps Nancy`s father and brother. But cannot find the link.
Thanks for replying to my query.
JOE
