Benjamin Freed (1790-1855) wife unknown, NOT Native American
Posted by: Christine McLinden (ID *****6942) Date: December 20, 2006 at 08:58:35

I recently took the DNA test from Family Tree DNA to help determine the ancestry of Benjamin Freed's wife. According to them " The mtDNA database of Anthropological Origins contains the female
inherited mitochondria that all of us receive from our mothers. " This changes very little from generation to generation. They can find a common female ancestor back more than 50 generations. From this test,we can determine that Benjamin Freed's wife was not a Native American, but rather of European ancestry. So I hope that everyone interested in this line, will join me in trying to dig for more information on this elusive lady.
