The 1850 census of Roxbury, Mass., Norfolk County, p. 99(printed), p. 197 (written), lists a Mary E. Fredericks, age 62, Barney Fredericks, age 21, and Matilda Fredericks, age 18, all born in Germany, in the household of my great-great grandparents John Hankey and Sophronia Vegkle Hankey. I have been told that the Fredericks were related, but have no idea of the connection. Sophronia Vegkle was born in Baden. John Hankey in Kutzenhausen, Alsace. Do these names ring a bell with any other researchers?
