Thanks, Bob!Good to hear from another FREDERICK.My connection is Emily FREDERICK, who married Richard BAILEY. Emily is the daughter of Andrew FREDERICK of John Augustus.
Today Pam sent me a little bit more:
Augustus died February 19, 1827 age 66 yrs 10 mo 7 da and was buried in the old cemetery next to the
Lutheran Church at Jeffersontown, Jefferson County, Kentucky.I understand thathe came to Jeffersontwon while very young and was a farmer and had about 700acres of land on his home place which was located on Chenowith Run and had about700 acres of land on his home place which was located on Chenowith Run about 3miles from Jeffersontown and a flour mill and saw mill with a water wheel. There is nothing to show where the mill stood, but it was just in front of hisold home and he ran a distillery.I understand he made peach brandy. His firsthome was burned down which was at the foot of the hill but he rebuilt on top ofthe hill. The house is now owned by one of his grandchildren. The deed book atLouisville, Kentucky shows that he bought from Glen Breckenridge December 5,
1797, 260 acres of land for 5 shillings, Aug 5, 1805 150 acres for $300, on Jan1 1809 he bought from Robert McKoehn 110 acres for $304.68, on June 30, 1810 206acres for $800.A total of 726 acres.I have been told that he shot an Indianon his farm near his house. At the time of his death he was member and anofficer of the Lutheran Church at that place, and he is buried next to thechurch.
