Hi Donna, I, like you, have not worked on this in a long time. This is what I believe, but not have researched.I believe the Venner family came from Aylmer, Quebeck or Aylmer, Ontario. I am not sure of the spellings for Aylmer because both are quite similar and each in a different place.I believe that after seeing your information that the family was probably close with the Liberty family and the Fredericks and they may have moved to Illinois together. It wouldn't hurt to do research in both area's I guess.I have had a terrible time finding anything on the Venner family. I keep hoping to run across another line that might have known the Venner family. One of the brothers changed his last name to Weber to keep from going into the service. It's also a long story about why my last name is not Venner.
I have heard of people marrying people that lived just across the boarder in Europe quite often. The trains make it quite easy to meet people. My own Uncle's mom and dad did just that, she was Flemish and from Belgium and her husband was from France and could speak both languages. They both worked together in a bicycle factory in Belgium.
