My GG grandfather John Charles Watson used the surname DeForrest in marriage to Malinda Reed 1864. Answered census takers as John Watson 1870, 1880 and 1900. May have used other surnames. My DNA markers compare favorably with Frazer. I wonder if JC was actually a Frazer?
His father was born PA and mother born KY. JC migrated from KY to MO in time for 1864 marriage. They moved from Jackson County, MO south to Stone County, MO in 1876 where they spent the remainder of their lives. His journal has a final entry date of July 13, 1903. No record of death, obits, funeral details were ever found. No final resting place. A mystery.
