I have been desperately searching for a number of years for an Ancestor Alexander Frazer and where he was born and his Mother's maiden name.. His father's name was Hugh Frazer Engineer.
My Alexander was born Circa 1837-1838 according to all the UK Census it states he was born Lancashire.. then on the 1891 Census Alexander 's Birthplace was listed a Slysmondale Gloucestershire???.. This morning I received notification from a very kind " Fraser List" member informing me that Slysmondale was in Staffordshire..
The only " Primary Records" I have are:
(1) Marriage Certificate of Alexander Frazer age 30 - Father Hugh Frazer Engineer- married Sarah Berry age 21 years daughter of William Berry Stock Keeper ( think that should read " Store keeper from Bollington Cheshire " at Manchester Cathedral on 01 November 1868.
(2) Death Cert of Alexander Fraser ( note name change ) died @ 3 Eldon Street Salford aged 61 years 20 September 1899.
After Alexander's death.. Sarah and 3 of her daughters Emily bc 1879- Salford- Sarah E# bc 1887 Salford and Annie bc 1888 Salford all moved back to Bollington Cheshire.. they are on the 1901 UK Census in Bollington. Cheshire,...
I have hoping that someone may be able to help me, I live in Australia and do not have access to records apart from the Internet... There are numerous error on the 1881 UK Census with this family...
