David - you are clearly having a great deal of fun! I just checked Some Fraser Pedigrees by Duncan Warrand (which I have on CD) and he says that James Fraser of Dunballoch (who died in 1705) had two wives: "He married (1) Mary, daughter of Alexander Fraser of Reelig." A footnote, citing the Wardlaw MS, says: ""W. MS." The author was a contemporary of James Fraser of Dunballoch, and, according to him, there were three children of this marriage, Alexander Fraser, Isobel and Anna." "He had issue by his second wife, Margaret Fraser, four sons" who are named and described. A footnote says: "All [the sons] are mentioned in a sasine of 1686 (P.R.S. Inv.). There appears also to have been five daughters." I don't think this helps you much, but it confirms that James had daughters. I'll post more if I come up with anything.
