Seeking descendants of Thomas M. and Martha (Williams) Frazer of Covington KY. Their known children were Ida, Everett, Etna, John and Ben Frazer. Thomas M. Frazer, b Oct 1833 KY, m in Kenton Co KY ca 1857 Martha A. E. Williams, b Sep 1837 KY. Each may have died before the 1910 Kenton County census. 1900 census shows Martha as the mother of nine children, five of whom were then living. During the Civil War Thomas was a 2nd Lieutenant in Bart W. Jenkins' Company of Kentucky Cavalry, 3rd Battalion, Kentucky Mounted Rifles, and also a private in his brother-in-law R. S. Williams' "Kentucky Battery". Records of the latter unit show him and R. S. at Washington Co VA (most likely the city of Abingdon) on 3-1-1863. Thomas was a printer living in Covington's 2nd ward at the time of the 1870 and 1880 censuses. In 1900 he was a tax gauger with the Internal Revenue Service. Censuses show him and Martha with the following children: Ida Frazer, b ca 1860 KY, Everett Frazer, b ca 1861 KY, Etna Frazer, b ca 1863 KY, John Frazer, b Apr 1871 KY, and Benjamin A. Frazer, b Sep 1878 KY, d 24 Jun 1929 Campbell Co KY, m by 1920 Martha, b ca 1881 OH. Ben was an attorney and railroad claims agent. John was a printer and compositor; m ca 1896 Carrie, b Aug 1864 IN. In their household in 1910 was daughter Dixie Frazer, b ca 1894. Appears in Company Muster-in Roll of the organization. Roll dated near Frankfort, Ky., June 11, 1864. Muster-in to date June 11, 1864. Enlisted When: Augt. 20th, 1863. Where: Kentucky. By Whom: B. W. Jenkins. Period: The war. REMARK (printed as part of form): "Those men on this roll whose enlistment ante-dates the organization of this company several months, formerly belonged to an incomplete company of Artillery known as the Williams Battery or Kentucky Battery". AMNESTY OATH and EXAMINATION of 2nd Lt. T. M. Frazer of Boone County, Ky. Statement of Lt. T. M. Frazer, a paroled rebel prisoner, made at St. Louis, Mo., before G. Clarke, examining officer of Provost Marshal General, this 24th day of May, 1865. My age is 32 years. I was born in Boone County and State of Ky. I was in arms against the United States, and was a 2nd Lieut in Independent Company, Jenkins' Squadron, Cav'y. I was sworn into the rebel service about the 1st day of March, 1863, by Capt. R. S. Williams, C.S.A., in Washington County, Va., for 3 years. I served in the rebel army until the 30th day of April 1865, when I was surrendered and paroled at Mount Sterling in the State of Ky. At the date of my parole I was a 2nd Lt in Independent Company, Jenkins Squadron, Cav., C.S.A. At the date of my enlistment in the rebel army I was an actual resident of the County of Washington and State of Va., but consider St. Louis as my home. I intend to reside here in the future, and follow the avocation of clerking. I desire to take the Oath of Amnesty prescribed by the Proclamation of His Excellency the President of the United States, of date December 8th, A.D. 1863, if permitted to do so, and will faithfully observe all its terms and conditions. /s/T.
