Frazer History by William Tandy Burrus Frazer 1874

The following text is of an original document in my possession. It is the family history of William Tandy Burrus Frazer written in his hand on lined paper in 1874. My husband's great grandparents are James and Fredonia Jane Johnson Frazer of Virginia and Georgia and their daughter, Mary Frazer, married Rollin Augustus Daniel and lived in Tennessee.

Start.
The Frazer family written by Wm. T. B. Frazer in 1874. James Frazer, my Great Grandfather, came from Scotland. He had five sons whose names were
Reuben
William
James
John
Anthony.

Reuben had three children:
Frederick
Martha
Cassandra

William had three sons. This family settled near Lexington, Ky.
Robert
William
Warren

James Frazer, my Grandfather, had five children. His first wife was Herndon by whom he had three daughters:
Betsy
Martha
Sally
Betsy married James Frazer, son of Anthony and had 4 daughters, Hannah who married Mr. Thomspon, Sarah married Mr. Harrison. Margaret married Mr. Calwell. Elizabeth married Mr. Rein (?).
Martha Frazer married Mr. Boyer of Greenbrier and had no children. She married a second husband Mr. Mathews. Sally married Mr. Felix Hansford of Kanawa.

James Frazer's second wife was Lucy Smith by whom he had two sons.

Wm. Smith Frazer, my father, who married Ann Burrus in 1819 and had 4 sons. Wm. T. B. (myself), James, John Robert and one daughter, Lucy Martha. Wm. T. B. Frazer married Lucinda D. Mills, daughter of Nath'l Mills and Catharine C. June 27 1844 and have two sons, William L. and Nathaniel and three daughters, Laura married Geo. W. Morton and has 1 son, Geo. Wm. Nannie married Dr. L. M. Cowardin. Roberta.

James Frazer married Fredonia J. Johnson daughter of Lewis Johnson and has 10 children, Cora D., Annie, James, Wilmonia L., who died, Jessie J., Eugene P., John L., Lucy, Lelia M. and Mary.
John Frazer married Susan Morton, daughter of Geo. W. Morton and now has 4 children, Mary, Lucy, George and Jennie. Robert Frazer married Florence Spellmann of Warrenton and has no children. Lucy M. Frazer married Oliver Terrill son of Capt. John Terrill and now has 2 children, Anna Eustace and Lucy Oliver.

James Frazer, my father's only brother, married Sally Long and had a good many children some of whom were William, James, Gabriel, and Fanny. John Frazer had 4 children, Thomas, Jack, Betsy and Delphy.

Anthony Frazer had 8 children, James, Patsey, Ned, George, Herndon, Anthony, Addison and Peggy. Ned Frazer son of Anthony married his cousin Betsy daughter of John Frazer and had 1 son Joseph who now lives near Lexington, Ky. James Frazer, son of Anthony married his cousin Betsy, daughter of James Frazer.
Herndon Frazer married Miss Huldah Herndon his 1st wife and had no children. His 2nd wife is Martha Rawlings, daughter of Richard Rawlings by whom he has 2 children, Herndon and Huldah. Huldah married N. P. Coleman and has 1 daughter.
Lucy Frazer the daughter of Thomas Frazer son of John Frazer married Melzi Chancellor and has 9 children, Vespasian, George, Bedell, Sanford, Anna, Edmonia, Lucy, Susuan and Leona.
Eliza Frazer, daughter of Thomas, married Thomas Chandler and has 3 children, James G., Lucy Turner and Nannie.

James Frazer, son of Frederick has 6 children, Ivarine Livingston, Jennie Cleveland, Frederick Lee, Eusebia Josephine, James Lewis and Thomas Anderson.

Cora D. Frazer, eldest daughter of my brother James, married Wm. H. Morton of Georgia and had 4 children, James W., Robert F., Jessie, Rufus C. died.

Note: The document is written in fine brown ink and beautiful penmanship. Upside down on the back side in purple pencil is scrawled in shakey writing the following:
You will see that this needs considerable changing all if (?) you can do better than I can.

I hope this is of interest. I am interested in sharing information on the Frazer, Burrus, Johnson and Daniel families. Martha Daniel
