a couple of questions about Jonas b. 1759
Posted by: Gale Wallen (ID *****2500) Date: April 13, 2006 at 06:11:48

Can anyone tell me why in various trees on line Jonas' name is JOSEPH (JONAS) FRAZEE ?????

In Jonas' Revolutionary War Pension Application (Claim W.10038) the only name that Jonas himself or the government or Sarah ever uses is Jonas.

In the 1850 census, Miami Twp. Hamilton Co. OH, he is listed as Jonas.

In that 1850 census, Jonas age 90, and Sarah age 53, have the following children:
Silas 24
Noah 21
William 15
Betsy 13
Selina 11
Margaret 10

My 2nd question is - since Jonas had a son named William b. ca 1835, listed in the above census, why does he have another son (in trees on line) William Samuel b. 1818 in Butler Co.????

On 21 May 1833, Jonas swore in his pension application, "... then returned to Westfield, New Jersey where I remained until 1800, when I removed to the county of Hamilton in Ohio where I have resided ever since.

Gale (researching Noah in the above census)
