Yesterday, I received a copy of The Journal-Standard newspaper from my parents with the complete article of the Centennial Family Farm. Here is the real brief summary of the article. The article contains a wonderful family history of the farm.

The Geerdes family farm near Shannon, Illinois recently was designated a Centennial Farm. The Geerdes farm is now in the possession of granddaughter, Alice (Buss) Fransen. Its been in the family for 123 years. Emerson Fransen, the son of Alice Fransen and the late Jake Fransen had the farm recognized by the Illinois Department of Agriculture as a Centennial Farm.
