Francom/Frankum North Carolina

While researching the Franklin families of Burke county North Carolina I have found the following Frankum families in North Carolina. There is some mixing of the Frankum name and the Franklin name. I am particularly interested in a Nancy Frankum/Franklin who appears in the 1820 Burke County census as Nancey Frankum and in the 1830 Burke County census as Nancy Frankund and possibly in the 1850 census of Yancey County as Nancy Franklin. Those listed as Frankum were: 1800 Joshua Francom Brunswick County, 1810 James and William Frankum in Burke County, 1820 Joshua Frankum in Brunswick County and Nancey Frankum in Burke County, 1830 Nancy Frankund Burke County, 1840 Foster Franhum in Burke County. In the 1850 census these appear to be all listed as Franklin? I believe the ancestor I am looking for, Isaac Franklin may actually have been a son of Nancy Frankum? Nancy may have been the wife of James or William Frankum of the 1810 census.
