i am looking for FRANKLIN in Canada too, I think! :-)
My gggrandfather was Silas Franklein RIDEOUT (also spelled Franklin in various documents). Other siblings had ancestral surnames as middle names so it is a fairly safe assumption that his was also ... but I don't know how it ties in yet and am looking for ALL possible leads. My "Frank" was born in Newfoundland. His RIDEOUTs migrated from Maine and Connecticut through other New England states, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
