Hi, I'm Abe & Sally's 3g grandson via Abel(~1787-1878) & Cynthia Jeffries, James C.(1819-1893) & Julie Quillen,and Julie Queen & James E. Templeton.
I've always heard I have indian roots but have never been able to find any documentation. I would be willing to wager that most families from the late 1770's, early 1800's in western NC or northeast TN have some indian and/or melungeon roots.
Have you ever heard the family lore from our Johnson Co, KY cousins that Abe (b~1771) went west after 1818 & was never heard from again. He left Sally with Abel, Bird, Shadrach & a boy (b 1804/10) to raise alone.
Who were Josephine's parents. I would like to add her to my files.
I'm still hoping that someone out there might finally find who Abe's grandparents were;i.e. the parents of Abraham (Old Abe) Franklin (1753-1845) who supposedly married a Lucille Vaughn.
