Hi Valerie. For what it's worth:
I found an Emily Mabel Franklin born 1894 (reg Dec quarter) in Northampton (on Free BMD).
There's a small possibility she could have been a sister of my grandfather (by adoption) Harry R Franklin, born 1893 in Helmdon and moved to Irthlingborough around 1900.
Harry's parents were Thomas Franklin and his wife Annie (King) Franklin. Thomas died at age 37 around 1895.
There are some confusing data about the family around the 1901 census (Irthlingborough), and I don't find any David, so this is probably not your family.
There was another Thomas Franklin in Brackley, a 48 year old bricklayer's labourer, married to Mary, 28 years old. in 1901 no Emily or David.
In Brackley there was also a David Franklin, 70 years old, born in Fathinghoe.
Good luck, don't give up. Barbara
