Hello Tracy,
I am from the Isaac Franklin line and we have been successful in linking Isaac to a Jacob Franklin in Cherokee County, NC.Isaac was born in 1787 and his father was a full Cherokee Indian.
My thought was that maybe Edward was somehow connected to the old Thomas Franklin in Fentress, but this was guesswork on my part.Thomas did have children the age of Edward, Clark, and Nathaniel who were all in Fentress Co.I will confirm that Edward owned a lot of land and he did raise horses according to Albert Hougue is where I think I read that. The one way I see that our lines could be connected is if Edward is related to Jacob's wife.I understand Jacob probably took the name Franklin when he married his wife who was Caorline.
There is also a posibility that one of Isaac's girls married a son of Clark Franklin, at this time I don't know if your related to the Clark Franklin from Fentress Co.
As I look through the records of Fentress Co. and Wilder I seen Franklin that I don't have history on, I just know they don't fit into my line, perhaps they are from the Edward line as you say.I would like to talk with you more about those Franklins in Wilder.I was raised not far from Wilder and not far from where Issac and Edward owned land on the East Fork of the Obey River.
I enjoyed your story and would like to be able to sort out who the people in Fentress County are that are in your story.
Thanks
