I am a decsendant of Mary Jane Frankland. She was born in Yorkshire England and married a John Winfield. They came to Canada and settled in Ontario. She is burried in the Elora Cemetry. On her grave stone she is burried as Lady Jane Frankland. The eldest daughter of each family bears the name Frankland as a middle name apparently she was from royalty but I have no proof of this and was wondering if anyone knows why she would have the title lady with her maiden name and not her married name. Her parents were Fankland and Peel but this is all I know. If anyone could help me solve this mystery I would be very happy. Thank you.
