I always thought my immigrant ancestor to the U.S. in 1837 was named James Franklin (which is what he went by in the U.S.), but it appears that on the passenger list he was James Frankland. Does anyone have a James Frankland born in 1794 in their family history? And what part of England did most of the Franklands populate? James was listed as a weaver and his oldest son, born in Ohio, was named William. I'm thinking that James's father may have been William.
