Be prepared to get lost! The roads in this area are very confusing even with a map. I drive this all the time, but I think I may be forgetting the correct road names. Here goes. If you are coming from NJ and crossing the Frenchtown Bridge, take a left onto River Road. (It is also called route 32.) The immediate right after getting on River Road is Uhlerstown Road and has the Uhlerstown Covered Bridge on it. You do not want this road. Follow River Road for approximately 1 mile (passing Tinicum Park on your right) until you reach Headquarters Road/Giegel Hill Road, the first road after the park. Make a right onto Headquarters Road/Giegel Hill Road. (A left would put you in the river.) Go only about a quarter of a mile and make a left at the Erwinna post office. If you cross the Erwinna Covered Bridge you have gone too far. After making your left at the post office, follow this road (Headquarters Road) for a few miles. You will make a left onto Hollow Horn Road.(there is no place to make a right at this intersection). Follow Hollow Horn for a few miles. Hollow Horn Road will end at a T with Cafferty Road. Take a left onto Cafferty Road. This road will lead you across Tinicum Creek via the Frankenfield Covered Bridge! Cross the bridge and then get on Hollow Horn Road again. (Even though you were just on Cafferty) Continue on Hollow Horn past the left onto Red Hill Road and stay to the right onto Red Hill Road (confused?) and this will take you to Frankenfield Road. Make a left onto Frankenfield Road (there is no right) and stop in at the Frankenfield Bed and Breakfast and say you are a Frankenfield and the lady there will talk your ear off. If you put the town of Erwinna, PA into mapquest, you can probably get a decent map of the area. You will need it!
