Hi Lesley,
My husband's great grandmother was thier daughter Maggie Olivia Frankel, whom married Williams Richard Hall. Thier daughter, Daphne Wilhelmenia Hall (whom married Lawrence James Blake) is his grandmother.
Its a really long time since I have looked at all of the information that I have on our families (as I have 2 young children now) and I think 2 computers ago, so I don't have easy access to all of the information that I have at the moment. I did however pull out some print out's that I have and see that I have a copy of Augusts `certificate of oath of allegiance' and `memorial by an alien for naturalization.' I don't think I have any information on the ship he arrive on, but have a record of a christening for an August Ferdinand Fraenkel for 28 Dec 1823 in Sankt Marien, Berlin Stadt, Brandedburg, Preussen - this list the mother as Hanna Fraenkel, but not father is listed. However I do have a ? also written next to it, so I don't beleive I ever managed to confirm that this was the right record or not.
As mentioned, this may or may not be right, as the up to date files I have were on the PC.
Maybe this will be of some use to you?
Thanks for the information
regards
Karen Keating
