hi
Just looking through this for the first time. I am from RATHNEW CO WICKLOW, which is not that far from ENNISCORTHY CO WEXFORD. I dont know exactly how long my family goes back in the village but it would be the best part of one hundred & fifty years. My father Laurence Franey is the youngest of nine only one of which (his sister) moved to the states the rest either settled in England or local.MY grandfather was Michael born may 1896, died jan 1983 and his father (also Michael)as far as i know was also born in Rathnew but before that i am not aware, although i do have some link to wexford on another side of the family and possibly on the franey side too i will try and find out more . All of the Franeys in this area are related most of them from my granfather Michael and his brothers James, Din and Pat there are some franeys that would be further back . The most common name in the family is Michael (no joke) with three of us living local(so i get my mail after the other two have read it),there are several more in England and Canada.
Look forward to a reply from you and any other Franey's
