Would your Edgar Franey be James Edgar FRANEY b. 10 March 1884, the son of James E. FRANEY b. 1842, d. 1934 and Augusta M. MacKAY b. 13 Aug 1847? They were married in Chester, Lunenburg Co., N.S. 26 Jan 1868.

Children of the the above James and Augusta:
Charlotte Mary b. 27 May 1868
Adelaide "Addy" b. 6 May 1870
Margaret Delmina "Del" b. 3 Apr 1872
Catherine Isabella b. 14 May 1874
James A. b. 24 May 1876
John William b. 29 Jan 1878
Nora Samantha b. 2 May 1880
Alice "Josephine" b. 14 Apr 1882
James "Edgar" b. 10 Mar 1884
David "Edward" b. 3 Jun 1886
Charles "Ross" b. 29 Apr 1888

I'm told that Edgar was "back home" to Nova Scotia about 1823 and had two daughters with him, one being "Laura". About 1936 my Aunt Frances wrote to Laura after seeing her adress advertised in the Maple Leaf writing club and heard that Edgar had died shortly before that date.
