Greetings Terri,
My name is Bob Franey and I have the marraige cert. and some other info on John and Margret. There was 4 Franey's that lived in galesburg Il. that worked for the railroad. John had a brother from what I can tell and there was a M D Franey and a J R Franey ( I believe them may have been Children). John's brother (?) Michael came from Ireland. Arrived May 1, 1850, Port of entry; New York, Witness; George Phillips, John Freaney, Intent papers; Sept. 22, 1856, Patietion; Oct. 26, 1858, Nationized Oct 26, 1858, Married Jane Hewitt in Galesburg Il. Michael D. Franey had a daughter who was Rev. Mother Marie Helene who served as mothergeneral of the Sisters ofProvidence Order at St. Mary of the Woods, Ind. There was 3 sons that servived him Rt. Rev.Msgr. L. J. Franey Of Rockford Il., Rev. John T. Franey of Baltimore Md., Robert Franey of Oak Park Il., Two other daughters Margret and Mary Catherine Franey of Chicago and a Sister, Mrs Jane McGrail of Clayton Mo. If there is any other info that I can dig up I'll pas it on to you. If you have any info that you can pass my way it would help me to piece the Franey linage here in the US. I have several pices of info on Franey's just need to knit them all together...........Thanks Bob
