Wow, its amazing how many names overlap, including Gustave.I wonder if maybe they were cousins or something.Did Arne Strang mention how the family name was spelled in Swedish records?Arne said my family's was spelled Frendén in Sweden, but because my Johan Alfred was a soldier, he was given the soldier surname of Wirf (it replaces the family surname as long as the soldier remains in the military.)When Johan came to the US, he stuck with Franden, and so did the rest of the family when they followed 2 years later. All their documents said Franden, but when John and Johanna died, both death certificates were written as "Frandeen", because that's how they pronounced it.How did the church records spell the name of your family in Sweden?
