I have
Gustaf Frendin b. Jan 4,, 1830 in Frandefors, d. Apr. 19, 1890 in Vanersborg, Sweden. Wife: Ana Erickson b. March 24, 1825, Frändefors in Alvsborgs county, the province of Dalsland, d. Feb. 2, 1905 Vanersborg, Alvsborg, Sweden
Children: Charles Rodolf Frandin (Karl) b. 1872 and
John (Johan) Alfred Frandin (Frendin), born about 1856 in Vanersborg, Sweden. Died March 12, 1915 in Marseilles, IL, which is LaSalle county.
I have his first wife being Amelia Gustivson d. Oct. 14, 1883. After which he came to the US via NY>IL.
Their children:
Ellen Amanda Emerentia Frendin, b. Dec. 26, 1878, d. 1879
George David Frandin, b. Oct. 11, 1880: m. Ethel Campbell, 1913, prob. in IL
Rudolf Isidor Frendin, b. Feb. 11, 1883 d. July 2, 1883

In US, John (Johan) married Mary Meyers/Myers/Meiers, June 18, 1888
They had Clara, Theresa, Isabella, Charles. Son George from previous marriage came to US with Uncle Karl. I have a sheet somewhere with dates. Misplaced my binder...

Charles m. Marie Halterman. They had Charles, Richard, Norma, Mary.
My line is John&Mary>Charles>Richard>Linda.

I received documents from Sweden from Arne Strang. I believe he said he use to be a librarian. I would have it in the documentation.

Off the top of my head. I think that Johan Alfred had a sister in law who moved to streator, IL and married. I think the last name was something like Bergmann, but would have to check. I haven't had the opportunity to research this any further. I think that marriage is on the LDS site, and possibly IL marriage records online.

There are Frandins in Kansas, Nevada, Illinois, and Idaho. I have touched base with several.

Let me know if anything here lines up with your stuff. My great aunt says the name was pronounced "Frendeen".

Thanks.
Melanie
