final answer from Mennonite Church Eastern France, by Mr Baecher:
The only character to the approaching and this surname at SMM at this time is Christian Germann. We know of him that he was originally from Frutigen BE/Switzerland, he had to arrive in the Valley around 1700 because in 1701, the tax rolls indicate that he had "permission to work his craft" as a "new" master Weaver. He was liable to pay a contribution of 6 guilders. It still appears on the lists of the Anabaptists in 1703 (see image below, last name reported) and again in 1704 but is no longer mentioned in 1708. It is, therefore, that he remained at SMM that for a short period.
During this time, in 1703, an another "Christ Ghermann of Frutigen" (a son of the preceding?) 23 years old, is placed as an apprentice in the Anabaptist Hans Schertz of MMS.
It seems that after MMS, Christian Germann had surrendered in the Palatinate.
