if your french is good tape on google "Prisonniers de guerre charleville 14 18"
some answers.

As I found, the address of an historical club treating this subject, I can ask them.
I understand you don't know the true date of death?

please send me the name of the private (I understand he was english or american)I can ask somebody a search.
Long but doable.

PS/apparently, dead in military hospital were registered in the city.
not soldiers dead on front (for french special law for them, registered in last residence known)

Try also, military records in your country.
