Many thanks Jean. It's possible that Jacques and Simon were brothers if they are not the same person. A family story talks of a Jean Sire Brunette who fought in the Napoleonic war and lost part of his nose!!. Is this [Sire] a term used in France? We think it may have been a misreading of the Name Sirie by the elderly relative that told the story as well. The only information I've been able to find is the marriage so anything you are able to find would be so appreciated. I didn't know about the burning of records in Paris.
Kind regards,
Jan
