Hello.I'm not sure if I'm following your message correctly or not, but I did find an online database of colonial French soldiers:
http://anom.archivesnationales.culture.gouv.fr/ark:/61561/up424ojchttp://anom.archivesnationales.culture.gouv.fr/ark:/61561/up424ojc
Is this the database that you're referring to?I went through the list but they didn't seem to have that many that went to Louisiana which is where my 6th great grandfather definitely served.
He was also of German descent, but I know from research that many of those in the Swiss Army were German's.
If you're able to find anything, I will be very grateful, but I understand if this is not something you can do.
I was hoping that I could find a list of soldiers in the de Karrer Regiment in Louisiana in the early 1740's and when they were shipped over to Louisiana, and if there were any service records.
However, I know that given that it was so long ago and the various spellings of my gg..grandfather's surname that it will probably be difficult to find his records.
