Dear Jean Jacques,
Thank you very much for your response and your offer to look at things in September. Yes, Stakhovitch was spelled that way but I have an article on Sasha with it spelled the way I do in the subject line. I try all of them. And of course Alexandre was that way truly. Thank you for the links. I don't suppose you can tell me if Sasha was in the picture on the Risso page. There is one that looks like him and stands with his attitude, on the outside, but the picture is too small to tell for sure.
I will see if I can contact the documentalist. Thank you so much.
I know he was born in Leningrad, then moved to Paris in 1920. I wondered if Dr. George listed in the Risso piece is his father. My primary questions have to do with his father and mother and their families, as well as his travels to Argentina in 1949 when he left my mother's family forever. Nothing was ever heard from him until he died and his widow told his sister. But that is a far ways away from Normandie.
I am really just trying to piece anything together as no one seems to know who he was.
