No evidence of "land" troops on ships in Trafalgar,
but this has to be checked!
The "marines" existed by that time.

As I see, you have records of your ancestor, files are available in military archives in Vincennes.
But not before early sept (closed august and the reading room is limited to 60 persons!)
End of august, send a direct e mail; archives are 15 minutes on bus!
