H.S. Porteous (Hercules Scott Porteous) was a jeweller and did have excellent watches made or commissioned for his jewellry shop called "The Diamond Palace" in Denver, Colorado, ca. 1886 - 1888/89. He most likely was a cricket player, however I have no information about him playing cricket. He and his brothers went to Harrow in (England) for their education. If you have information about him playing cricket, I would love to hear about it. But more than anything I wish I could find out more about Denyse DesJardins!
