Hello Sam
Thank you for taking the trouble to reply.I can confirm that my mother was the daughter of Mendel and Frieda Gicht and her Uncle was called Isaac.I met him when i was a child.I am in touch with Isaac's daughter, Hazel.I now know that Isaac had a sister called Gitla and I think she lived in Paris.I have a lovely photo of a family in Paris and there is a little girl on it with her parents.I think this may be Gitla's child but I dont know. Can I email the photo to you as you may know?
My father wrote to these people (he was bi-lingual in French) but all communication ceased after 1943.He tried to trace them after the war but was unsuccessful. When my Mum died and I found the photo I realised I knew little about her family. She was orphaned in Poland, was an only child, and was unwilling to talk much about her background.I would love for my children and grandchildren to learn of this background.
I thank you for your help.YOurs sincerelyBea Faulkner
