i know what you mean about the jewish roots but from what i have been told that alot of the jews converted and changed their names in order to not be killed..anyhow this is really all that i have and i don't have dates for alot of it..now on the name gagnon and can also be used as gagnont, gagnent, gagnen, gagnac and for siroisalso used and spelled this way sirouz, seroz, seroux, serreau, sirreau, sireau, serot, sirot,
cirois, barnabe gagnon 1547 lagagnonniere, tourouvre mortagnes.perche, france 1571 married francoise creste daughter of nicolas martin creste, barnebe died 1581
thenjoseph gagnon dob 1720 married anastasie belzile who was my great grandmothers parents victoria gagnon she was born 1852, then my grandmother agnes mildred sirois born 2/20/1890, in old town penobscot, maine
anyhow i am really just interested in the ancestors from france who later migrated to isle verte, riviere du loup,QC
now for the name sirois: i have a jean francois sirois born in st.germain yvelines lle de france, france his wife was marie angelique dumont, their son francois sirois his wife marie francoise roy their son peirre roy, now maries mothers name was marie ann martin, and ann maries mothers name was marie major, her fathers name was antoine roy dit desjardiins.that is all the information that i have and if you could be of help i would appreicate it i know it is probably like shooting in the dark with no dates, oh and the sirois also know as sirois dit king and jean sirois know as sirois dit duplessis, this is where i really get confused with the name changes. anyhow in advance thanks for what you can find and if you can't locate any information thanks for trying. one day my family and i would love to visit france.
