You could try searching www.geneanet.com to see if anybody else is researching this family. For the time that you are researching, the main record is church records, and this is what the LDS have on microfilm for Vitre: (France, Ille-et-Vilaine, Vitré)

There are both protestant (Huguenot) and Catholic church records.
