1) I don't know "Ile de la Martingue". I suppose it might be "Ile de la Martinique". The handwriting is almost the same in French.
2) I found some data in geneanet concerning this family : see http://www.geneanet.org/contact.php3?place=Martinique%20972%2CFRANCE&info=&country=fra®ion=&subregion=&lang=fr&rech1=PEINTIER&rech=peintier&source=agaronhttp://www.geneanet.org/contact.php3?place=Martinique%20972%2CFRANCE&info=&country=fra®ion=&subregion=&lang=fr&rech1=PEINTIER&rech=peintier&source=agaron
and http://gw.geneanet.org/index.php3?b=agaron&lang=fr;p=jean;n=garon;oc=222http://gw.geneanet.org/index.php3?b=agaron&lang=fr;p=jean;n=garon;oc=222
I suggest you can get in touch with Andre Garon who has these data. His address is on the first page. This man is probably related to these people you're looking for.
Do you understand the meaning of "Tire pour les étoiles, tu pourras arriver à la lune" ? I think it's a good idea. It means "aim at the stars and you might get the moon".

Some places where Garon people lived. Among these pictures : Kamouraska in Quebec and a monument about Jean-Baptiste Garon.

I wish you good luck.
