Ebblie from Alsace Lorraine

We have traced the Ebblie line of our family to Jacob Ebblie, who may have been an immigrant from Alsace Lorraine to Lewis County, New York. He was born in 1775, his wife's name was Eleanor. He was living in Lowville, NY, when their children were born, the earliest probably in 1809. I have searched for his citizenship petition, without success. I understand that there were many immigrants from Alsace Lorraine to that part of NY. Does anyone have information on that, or on the Ebblie family? Marilyn Robertson
